Wedding Hair and Makeup

“Not having to worry about going to another location for hair and make-up as gave us more time and made the whole morning much more relaxed. On the day of our wedding I appreciated having Lauren come to our home. Lauren did my sister’s hair as well, which was also great as I needed my sister to help me dress, and it was very comforting to know she did not have to go anywhere else. Lauren was very calm and professional and has excellent taste. My make-up lasted all day and I received many compliments!”

I was after a very natural look and she spent a long time with me on my trial going through various looks, making sure I was comfortable with the make up but also offering ideas and letting me see the differences between looks. On the day she was great, especially with the chaos around! My hair was perfect, I knew what I wanted and she created the perfect style to the T! She was open and receptive to ideas and brought my whole look together as I had a simple champagne coloured dress with a splash of colour with my magenta shoes and flower in my hair! Most importantly for me was how comfortable she made me feel.

My dress was Hollywood glamour and that’s what we wanted to carry through to the hair and make-up. Without being over the top and given that on a normal day I don’t wear a lot of make-up I was going for a red carpet look. One of my main concerns is that I have very sensitive skin and I hate when foundation looks caked on. Lauren took on board this concern immediately and suggested a very light base that you can build up in layers to get as much or as little coverage as you want, this was such a success that I still use the foundation today. The look was Smokey brown eyes and a very natural lip. Lauren did not only my hair and makeup but the hair and makeup of my mother, my mother in law and my bridesmaid showing that she was very versatile.

The whole wedding was held at the beautiful Bingham Hotel, Richmond upon Thames. We wanted to have a wedding look that reflected our own style: elegant, but modern and minimal. The flowers were beautiful big white orchids and hydrangea. My wedding dress was ivory satin, bias cut with a statement low back. My make up was beautifully done. Lauren did a great job of making me look great on the day, but still looking myself. I had so many genuine compliments and the photos came out great as a result. Being able to just leave Lauren to do her job on the day meant that I could really relax and know that I would look my best.

Mel did a fantastic job on my hair and makeup and I was so pleased with the finished result and it lasted all through the day. She really listened to what I wanted and created the simple but elegant look that I asked for. Mel was also so calming on the morning of the wedding and couldn't do enough to make sure we were all happy. I would thoroughly recommend Mel and the bridal service from Return to Glory.

“The style we were looking for was a traditional yet relaxed feel where everyone felt comfortable. The make-up was very natural and the colours gorgeous for my skin-tone. I also loved the way that Tania stayed around until I was in my dress to fix my veil and make a few last minute adjustments, she even helped do up my dress after my Mum found it quite tricky to do. She was incredibly calming and kept checking I was ok and I couldn’t thank her enough for making my day get off to a wonderful start.”

"It was a day wedding in a classic indoor venue so I wanted a warm but fresh classic look. My make up artist Alexis did an amazing job helping to select the beautiful rich red for my lips. I was so pleased and confident with how I looked - not weddingy! Alexis also did a brilliant job styling and setting my hair piece. I'd never worn hair extensions or pieces so it worried me a little before hand but it looked lovely and seamless."
